Hare Prints by Chris Thorn
Chris has a background in science and engineering, and has been engaged in X-ray of safety critical engineering assemblies for many years typically in aerospace, nuclear and defence applications. Chris has always had an interest in wildlife and filled many sketchbooks on his travels. Now retired Chris devotes time to sketching, particularly of hares and other small mammals. He also uses low level X-rays to make pictures of flowers and plants.
"The Brown Hare is simply my most favourite creature on the planet. They are rarely seen in Cornwall, in fact I have travelled extensively in the region over the last fifteen years and have never been fortunate enough to see one.
Many well-intentioned people have pointed me in the direction of hare sightings, but unfortunately all (so far) have been rabbits. I regularly advise others seeking hares in Cornwall to keep any sightings to themselves as (if they should exist somewhere) they can be left to establish and develop larger communities.
The work of the HPT is to be encouraged in their aim to protect and enhance the hare population and promote greater awareness of this wonderful animal"

Hare Prints
These sketches are created using a fountain pen and wet brush technique, with a colour wash added digitally. They are high grade giclee prints using long life inks on 315gsm soft-texture archival water-colour quality paper. Each print is studied for perfection and approved before signing. Image size approx 10cm to 12cm on 14cm square paper. Prints will fit in a 12cm x 12cm mount. This size looks really good in a 10" square frame. Hare Prints by Eleanor Ludgate
Eleanor Ludgate has been a proffessional artist since 1974 and her paintings hang in collections all over the world. Painting in both oil and watercolour her work is well known for its fine detail. Being inspired by nature Eleanor has a particular affinity to Hares and the amazing history of the Three Hares Symbol which she has re-created in her own way in some of her paintings.
A keen conservationist Eleanor is concerned about the decline of Brown Hares and hopes through the sale of her work to be able to contribute to the Hare Preservation Trust and their good cause. She has her own website devonsnatureinart and Etsy shop.

Jeanette says "This piece was inspired by the golden Hare in the Masquerade book by Kit Williams. As soon as I saw that Hare I knew that one day I would create my own, that was a little easier to wear. Many years later when I came to my new home I found we had wild Hares living around us and I spent many hours watching them leaping and playing in the fields. The Celestial Hare is my homage to them. The stars in its body representing the night sky I watch them playing under. The spiral pressed deep into its hind quarters representing the strength within the muscle that can send the hare leaping high into the sky as well as an age old symbol of the earth and all its secret powers. The little bead hanging beneath it represents the moon over which the Hare is leaping. I always enjoy creating these as each Hare turns out slightly different and therefore unique to itself just like a real Hare would be and I hope that you will enjoy receiving and wearing your very own unique Hare too".

A beautiful and unique hare pendant. Made with a body of hand-beaten brass with small star shapes and a swirl on the hindquarters. Adjoining the front and back legs is a silver chain wth a semi precious bead of rose quartz on a spiral. A copper spiral links this hare to a silver chain. Suzanne has been a full-time professional artist for nearly 20 years. She lives on the North Downs in Kent, and although her studio overlooks the countryside, she has not yet spotted a hare! She specialises in Cats, Guinea Pigs and other small animals in a variety of styles and media. Wild Thing
Wild Thing print
This large and eye-catching, signed, un-mounted print has been taken from Suzanne's acrylic ACEO painting on recycled Elephant Poo paper. The print has been dramatically enlarged to take advantage of the fibrous texture of the original.
It features a close-up of a wild, European Brown Hare. Suzanne named the painting Wild Thing due to the un-tamed look in his eye - he looks like he could take flight at any moment!
The print measures approx. 9 7/8 x 7 1/8 inches, and it is signed, numbered and named directly underneath the image. There is a border around the print to allow for mounting. It is printed on 210gsm card for easy, non-wrinkle, mounting and framing.
For mounting and framing, Suzanne suggests a frame at least 16 x 12 inches with an off-white, or ivory mount. A new mount can be cut to your specified size at any framing shop. Prints look far more impressive mounted in a generous mount, with a relatively thin frame.
Your print will be sent rolled in a sturdy postal tube in a cellophane wrapper to protect it. It is recommended that the print is from the tube as soon as possible to allow it to re-flatten.

Laminated Moon-Gazing Hare Signs
This sale is for a pack of 2 signs and 2 suction hooks
Due to the popularity of her Moon-gazing Hare paintings, prints and pendants, she have decided to produce this sign. The legend of the Moon gazing Hare goes back to Pagan times, and is associated with good fortune, re-birth and abundance, so is ideal as a good luck talisman.
It depicts a gorgeous full moon, showing all its craters, mysterious shadows and markings, and a lovely Hare, who is in semi-silhouette against the moon.
The sign has been printed onto 200gms card, and then laminated. It is printed on both sides so can be appreciated in a car or house window, both inside and out. It measures just over 3 1/4" in diameter, and is fitted with a silvery thread for hanging from your car rear-view mirror, or at home, in a window, or even at work, on your computer! She has also included two suction hooks, to enable you to hang the signs from any completely smooth surface.
Your sign will be sent in a padded envelope with additional card stiffening to avoid being bent in the post.

This mounted print is limited to 100. It depicts a lovely stylised Hare on a speckled background, with curlicue patterning. The original artwork was executed in watercolours, gouache and pen and ink. Print number 2 is shown in the picture - you may receive another number.
The actual print measures 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". I have used Gerstaecker Watercolour paper, which gives the look and texture of an original watercolour. It is mounted in an off-white, bevel-cut mount, measuring 5" x 7", with backing board, cellophane-wrapped. It is numbered, signed and named on the mount. It is ready for you to put into a 5" x 7" frame.

Please meet baby hare Trondra. A textile ornament of a baby hare to display fondly in your home.
Trondra spends all day playing out on the rocks by himself. He doesn't need the company of the other babies and no matter what activity he is doing, he is always happy as long as it is amongst the rocks. At first he spent rather a lot of time jumping over and between and around them with his games of chase and escape, but as the days grew late and the sun shifted in the sky he began to notice many beautiful colours on their surfaces. So his games became shorter and he spent more and more time looking instead of playing. Then looking wasn't nearly enough either and he managed to prise some of the loose bits off and take them home so he'd have a little piece next to his bed when he woke up in the morning. Ofcourse it didn't help when he had had a restless night and greeted the morning with a throbbing headache from knocking it against the pieces that had slipped down into his pillow. Then there were the bruises on his legs when a bit had made its way down under the covers and he as having a 'running' dream. He thought about having them on a shelf by his bed instead, but no, he wanted them beside him where he could get a good view of them. It's now turning into a case of sleeping on a pile of rocks and not a typical soft hare's nest. Though the other babies had read that sleeping on a hard surface was really good for your back, but they weren't sure if it was meant to be one whole piece or 100 small ones. Not to matter because Trondra is getting used to the bruises and aches and pains. But on chilly days he does wake up feeling rather a little cold!
Trondra is looking forward to finding a nice spot on your shelf. It doesn't have to be ultra comfy mind, now that he is used to sleeping with all the rocks about him. Though he would appreciate a blanket for those cooler nights thanks. Plus he would like the window open a bit, he will still be making his daily forays over to the rocks to observe and admire them. And ofcourse bring a few pieces back with him. He can take some pieces for you too if you wish? You are into rocks aren't you? Infact if you come along with him you could carry the bag. Now that has always been his bug bear – too many rocks that are too heavy for his bag, so that would be the problem fixed!
He stands approx 16cm x 12cm and is made from an upcycled pair of thrifted grey wool trousers that came from the Edinburgh Dog and Cat charity shop, and has a polyfill stuffing, along with a full stomach of dandelion leaves (only joking!). Trondra is looking forward to his journey to his forever home! but he's hoping that you can give him a hand with his luggage - his bag is a little heavy what with all this rocks in it. He also wants you to know that baby hares are called leverets and mothers are does.
